Gasoline Components Product Coverage
A typical refinery will have processing units for Fluid Catalytic Cracking, Reforming, Isomerization and Alkylation. Each produces components which can be blended to make gasoline.
Blenders must meet the requirements of a specific blend in the most economically efficient way. For example, they must ensure that the Reid Vapour Pressure (RVP) is appropriate for seasonal blending requirements - with higher pressure needed for winter months - and adhere to regulatory emissions requirements for example on benzene and sulphur.
